This new IDIBAPS research area was set up to reflect the growing importance of research into Primary Care. Primary Care Centres (PCCs) are the gateway for citizens to access the public health system and therefore, all prevention and research carried out there are extremely valuable for improving the orientation of health systems. Because this is a group of multidisciplinary, transversal professionals, it is able to take a broad-based approach to patients and their illnesses.
